Quick Overview:

There are two different inventory options for Shopify products, "Track quantity" and "Continue selling when out of stock."

As the supplier is the one fulfilling the products, they control the inventory count and the inventory settings. For example, when the supplier stops tracking inventory, this syncs to the retailer's Shopify and disables inventory tracking for the same product.

However, both inventory settings have an impact on how the product behaves in your retail partner's Shopify. Please read below before making changes to either of these product settings.

Track quantity:

The track quantity setting is always kept in sync between partner stores, based on the supplier's preferences.

Retailer impact:

Checked ☑️ = Carro syncs inventory levels between both brands.

Unchecked = Carro interprets this as an infinite supply of inventory for the product. When the retailer publishes the product in their Online Store, customers will be able to purchase it. The Quantity Available field will list as "Not tracked" instead of an inventory count:

Continue selling when out of stock:

The "Continue selling when out of stock" setting can be turned on/off by the retailer as long as it's also on in the supplier's Shopify. If it's off in the supplier's Shopify, it cannot be turned on by the retailer.

Retailer impact:

Checked ☑️ = Carro interprets this as an infinite supply of inventory for the product. When the retailer publishes the product in their Online Store, customers will be able to purchase it.

Unchecked = Carro syncs inventory levels between both brands and prevents product sales once out of stock.
